Ease the choice for the right 64bit CPU
In an interview with Bob Muglia (senior vice president of the Windows Server Division at Microsoft) Paul Thorrott posted an interesting quote about Microsoft's work on the AMD 64bit architecture:
"Dave [Cutler - the man who designed the NT kernel] has been all over this. Dave worked really closely with to design the [AMD 64bit] chip. He was trying to get something that was really compatible and the problem that we have is that we [Microsoft] want to support all of our applications totally. And these chips are just fantastic for that."

It looks like buying AMD 64bit technology is the future proven choice (and don't forget to add some stocks into the package ;)
